What if the ordinary becomes extraordinary?

Belgian speciality beer is renowned worldwide for its quality. And yet too often, a certain image clings to it: heavy, old-fashioned, something only for connoisseurs. We believe it can be different. And should be.

With our renewed brand identity 'Simply Extraordinary' we begin a new chapter. Not by changing the beer. But by making the story sharper, fresher and closer to people and life.

Back to the people

Petrus has been a staple in our range for years. Internationally respected for its flavour balance, craftsmanship and character. But at the same time, we noticed that speciality beer was increasingly fading into the background: something for special occasions, or for those who really want to delve deeper. We wanted to break through that.

"Belgian speciality beer is not a museum piece that belongs behind glass," says CEO Albert De Brabandere. "It needs to be part of the spontaneous moments of everyday life again. Not by changing the beer, but by modernising the story."

Simply Extraordinary

The new positioning starts from a simple thought: the extraordinary is often found in the ordinary.

Not in grand gestures or symbolism, but in recognisable moments. A conversation that unexpectedly lingers. An evening that arises without a plan. A glass poured at exactly the right moment.

"'Simply Extraordinary' is not a slogan, but a different outlook on life,” adds Marketing Director Vicky Raman. "We Belgians are great at creating special moments out of nothing. Petrus is at the heart of it.”

New look, same soul

Visually, we are also taking a new direction. The entire identity has been redesigned into a premium, contemporary design, with modern colours and a subtle nod to Belgian art nouveau. Not a break with the past, but a contemporary translation of it.

Central to this renewal is Petrus Tripel. As a hybrid between a strong blond and a classic tripel, this beer is the perfect entry point: ideal for those getting to know Petrus, familiar for those who already know it.

Craftsmanship remains the foundation

What doesn't change is what made Petrus great. The beer itself remains untouched. The brewing process, the ingredients and the respect for tradition remain central.

"It would be easy to make Petrus lighter or sweeter," says Albert De Brabandere. "But that wouldn't be fair to our heritage. Petrus is the beer for which we are respected worldwide. Bringing that craftsmanship back to everyone, that's what we call simply extraordinary."

Heritage with a future

With this rebranding, we're not just looking at ourselves, but at the entire sector. It's a call for quality that doesn't feel distant, for craftsmanship without frills. For beer that doesn't stand above life, but is simply part of it.

No trend. Just attention, character and time.

Simply Extraordinary.
